Please join us for our final session of the 2023 SpinneyLife Signature Speaker Series, where Coach Judy Torel will join us for the 3rd part of her health and wellness series for The Spinney Communities. This month she will be educating us on “Daily Lifestyle Guidelines for Sleep Hygiene.”
In this presentation she will explain the stages of sleep and what each is good for and daily lifestyle behaviors that set the stage for optimal quality and quantity of sleep for longevity and quality of daily life. Including:
1. Light, deep and REM stages of sleep; what each does and when each occurs in the night cycle.
2. Most common sleep disrupters for those over 60 (late to bed, heat management, inflammation, eating/drinking after dinner, mental anxiety, light/darkness cycle disruption, frequent awakenings due to urination, anxiety/busy mind, etc)
3. Lifestyle practices to minimize the common disrupters in #2
