As time passes, the realities of aging expose the downsides of home ownership and may create pressure to move. But where to? For many reasons – sentimentality, resistance to change, a lack of better options – people continue living in homes that no longer suit their lifestyle.
Our Spinney communities are for active adults, 55+, where residents live amongst like-minded peers in a lifestyle-focused environment. Designed for those “55 and Better” who desire independence without the burdens of homeownership, a Spinney community allows you to regain time back to explore hobbies and embrace your life to the fullest.
As an active adult community, a Spinney community provides many lifestyle amenities. Our communities are ideal for active adults who manage daily household and personal care tasks on their own.
Outside of the comforts of your cottage, our signature lifestyle and wellness program, SpinneyLife, is at your fingertips to support your goals. Engaging in SpinneyLife will truly improve your experience at The Spinney!
Welcome home to wellness.
Note: Some individual features will vary depending on unit layout.
Since we know that pets are members of your family too, our community is also proud to be pet friendly! We permit 2 pets per cottage, but size and breed restrictions may apply. Please contact the Leasing Office for more information.
The Spinney at Pond View community features sidewalks for evening walks, a Clubhouse overflowing with activities for residents, 2 pools, a Community Garden, a gazebo, and, yes, a pond! Overlooking our namesake pond is a tree-covered area named “Elisabeth’s Grove” with picnic tables and comfortable chairs for residents and their guests to sit back, relax, and enjoy the tranquility and wildlife that this amenity adds to the community.
The Spinney at Pond View is a proud member of Rensselaer Chamber of Commerce. The Rensselaer Chamber of Commerce serves the businesses of Rensselaer as well as the wider community.
